By this time in the game, Selmer really had it figured out as to what they wanted the VI to feel and sound like. They are different than the early VI's for sure, but very consistent and GREAT players. This horn belongs to Chip McNeill, head of Jazz Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign, and he has decided to sell it to help fund his search of a 55,xxx - 56,xxx Selmer. A nice tight core with lots of projection, color and flexibility, this sax is a really solid player. It was overhauled not to long ago and the work on it is solid. We have set it up and it's ready to gig right now! Has had some past repairs and been played, but no significant trauma. 90% original lacquer left on the body and the neck was stripped, but is original to the horn.
